nell'ultima settimanaAccoglienza molto scortese. Sconsigliato.

nell'ultima settimanaDO NOT STAY HERE – ABSOLUTELY NOT A 4-STAR HOTEL One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Our one main holiday of the year was completely ruined. We booked Lloyd’s Baia Hotel expecting a 4-star hotel and specifically chose a hotel with a swimming pool because we were visiting during a heatwave. On arrival, we were told there was no pool. There is a private beach, but we then discovered we had to pay per person, per day to use the beach facilities, at prices we found absolutely ridiculous considering how much we had already paid for the holiday. THE CONDITION OF OUR ROOM WAS DISGUSTING The condition of our room was completely unacceptable. There was what appeared to be fresh mould growth, along with older mould that looked as though it had simply been wiped away rather than properly treated. I have medical issues which made staying in a room in this condition particularly concerning. The room was also overrun with ants – they were even in the beds. When we complained to reception about the condition of the room, we were told that we had booked a “standard room”, which appeared to be given to us as an explanation for its condition. I honestly could not believe this response. Whether a guest books a standard room, superior room or suite should make absolutely no difference to the basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene. A standard room should still be clean, sanitary and medically fit to sleep in. Paying for a standard room does not mean accepting mould or ants in your bed. I have genuinely seen hostels in better condition. For somewhere marketed as a 4-star hotel, the standard we experienced was shocking. We have stayed in numerous 4-star hotels and this was nowhere remotely comparable. Based on our experience, I would rate the standard of the accommodation and service at 1–2 stars maximum. RUDE, DISMISSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL RECEPTION STAFF What made an already awful situation worse was the attitude of some of the reception staff. We found them rude, dismissive and completely unprofessional when dealing with our concerns. Being told we were in a “standard room” when raising concerns about mould and ants was particularly frustrating. We weren’t complaining that the room wasn’t luxurious enough. We were complaining about its condition and hygiene. When you’re already extremely disappointed with your accommodation, the very least you expect is for staff to listen, take concerns seriously and try to resolve them. Instead, their attitude contributed massively to how bad this holiday became. EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC UNTIL 2AM AND LATER If you are expecting a relaxing Italian holiday, be warned about the noise. There was extremely loud music until around 2am, sometimes even later, particularly at weekends. Trying to relax or get a decent night’s sleep was extremely difficult. Between the noise, mould, ants, lack of the swimming pool we expected, additional beach charges and the attitude of staff, there was very little opportunity to actually enjoy our holiday. The location and views are beautiful, but a beautiful view does not make a 4-star hotel. We get one main holiday a year. We save for it, look forward to it and expect to come home with amazing memories. Instead, we came home feeling that our holiday had been completely ruined. I genuinely wish we had known all of this before booking. Would I recommend Lloyd’s Baia Hotel? Absolutely not. Would I return? Not under any circumstances. Please research this hotel very carefully before spending your money. Our experience was nothing like the 4-star stay we believed we were booking.
